I feel privileged to be able to contribute to this charity dance show this year as well, thanks to Tribal Troopers carrying it on. Read more about the Homa Lime centre in Kenya that is the cause supported by this event. This time I will be dancing Afghan dance. I have a coreography from before which I´ve been modifying recently. Still working on it and trying to adapt some new little twists to make it more interesting. The costume and jewellery is already picked, so I´m surely looking forward to it. Just happy to be able to perform 2 days after my 37th birthday that is approaching.

Amazing lineup, I must say! It will be a warm atmosphere there with so many dancers knowing that the place and dressing room is rather tiny! Will be a blast!

It was a pleasure and a great learning experience to practise a dance together with Jorunn Sjølli to Sophia Mirlashari´s coreography that was introduced on a Persian dance class at Tribal Camp in 2009. It was lovely to catch up with this beautiful coreography and try a Persian dance duett for the first time. I do notice I need more practise to dance in duo and I´m a little wiser about what kind of things I should work on next time I dance in duo. But I certainly hope new possibilities will show up!

 

Tajikistan was once part of the Persian Empire, and it´s also where we find the oldest spoken Persian language today. I so enjoy this dance (unfortunately bad picture) and the spirit in it. I´d love to learn more. I feel this style is closer to the kind of interpetations in Persian dance I prefer with it´s speed, energy and passion. Maybe my preference is so because of my Finnish background and some yearning for determination and a portion of drama :-)

I´m so looking forward to dancing in duo tomorrow! Been collecting items for my costume and realised that I cannot wear the beautiful Afghan jewellery dear Jorunn lended to me as I got a horrible rash from it after our last rehearsal. My neck area itches like crazy and doesn´t look too pretty... :( So I went for some purchase for neckless in gold (fake) and found something that matches my ear rings quite well. Also found a scarf I´ve been looking for, so otherwise very happy. Time to do the toe nails and pack the suitcase :)

It will be possible to buy tickets to Hafla, 150 NOK, by the door of Caféteatret in Oslo. Doors will open at 19.00 and the show starts at 20.00.
